Approach

I am guided by the belief that there is something inside of you that holds immense wisdom. We enter that wisdom by listening very closely to our bodies and what they want to tell us. Often, the mind is helpful to make meaning but it can also get in our own way. I am a firm believer that there is nothing to “fix” and prefer the idea that something is emerging in each of us.

As I walk with you, we look for the loud and quiet messages your interior world is sending to you. My approach values slowness, honesty, and deep listening. As something becomes emergent and alive, we invite our mind into the mix. What choices do you have? Where can you exercise your own agency? I believe that power comes from choice, and that you have a birthright to self-authorship and self-authority. The work is meant to bring you closer to yourself, and to bring the most authentic version of you to the world.

My lived experience is perhaps my best training. In addition to that, the following credentials have shaped me:

  • Ph.D., UCLA —Human Development and Psychology
  • Masters, Harvard University — Education with a Specialization in Language and Literacy
  • Bachelors, Austin College — Political Science and Economics
  • 2100 hours of supervised clinical experience as a Psychological Associate in California with a licensed psychodynamically-oriented psychologist
  • Wild One Intuitive Training —Course from Pooja Bakhai, Founder of Lakshmi Sacred Arts
  • Somatic Verbal Skills of Presence — Course by Jessica Garay, Creator of Moon Vibe Sanctuary (in progress)
  • Reimagining Safety in Somatics — Course by Zeena Ismail and Tania Shoukair (in progress)

I am a developmental psychologist who has extensive training and clinical work. A few years ago, I was a practicing therapist who mostly incorporated psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches. I decided to leave the licensed work behind to pursue a much more holistic approach that involves body-mind-spirit. Therefore, please note that this is not therapy and I work outside of the licensure of the California Board of Psychology.
